 Course Description:

The course presents different topics in plant, animal, insect, microorganism, and food biotechnology. It focuses on the study of genetic engineering technologies in plants.

 

Course Objectives:

●       To gain a basic understanding of DNA technologies and modern biotechnology

●       Understanding the molecular and physiological basis of the technologies, and their implementation in food and feed crops

●       Understand the potential of genetic engineering in crop plants, and review the updated achievements.

Learning Outcomes:

On successful completion of this course, students should be able to:

  • To explain the application of genetic engineering in plants.
  • To assess the difficulties of its implementation.
  • To recognize the advantages and the disadvantages of agricultural biotechnology.
  • To demonstrate how biotechnology can be applied to improve the agricultural properties of various crops.
