Course Description:

Basic microbiology- different groups, and classifications according to nutrition, shape, cell structure, reproduction mode, etc.

Microbes are everywhere, usually in communities, performing different interactions- examples from air, water, soil, on the surface, and inside different multicellular organisms.

Role of soil microbes in soil fertility and crop production: nitrogen fixation, promotion of nutrient uptake from the soil, increased resistance to pathogens,
